Kemper exhibit showcases Brazilian artist

Brazilian conceptual artist Rivane Neuenschwander, whose work is the focus of a major exhibit opening at the Kemper Art Museum Friday, Oct. 8, will discuss her work at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, in Steinberg Hall Auditorium. Among the artwork is “First Love,” (pictured at right) an exhibit that invites audience participation. FULL STORY

Astronauts present student with scholarship

Apollo astronaut Walt Cunningham will present senior Kaitlin E. Burlingame with a $10,000 scholarship from the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, in Brookings Hall, Room 300. Obituary: G. Robert Blackburn

G. Robert Blackburn, the first director of community and government relations at WUSTL, died Sept. 20, 2010. He was 88. Blackburn was the university’s director of community and government relations from 1972-1992. FULL STORY

  • Softball team earns academic honor. The WUSTL softball team has been recognized by the National Fast-Pitch Coaches Association for having the highest grade-point average among all NCAA Division III teams for the 2009-10 academic year. The Bears posted a cumulative GPA of 3.549 last year to take the top spot among all D-III programs.
